Safety rules for the domain of Access to CERN

Safety rules according to the new classification

Safety Regulation SR-S - Smoking at CERN en fr
This Safety Regulation replaces the Safety Instruction IS 46 as from its publication date.
This Safety Regulation bans smoking in all enclosed or covered spaces on CERN premises as well as in all CERN vehicles. The prescriptions enforced by this Safety Regulation shall apply to all persons present on the CERN site.

Safety rules according to the old classification

Safety Code A7 - Road traffic (1990) en fr
The subject is to lay down the road traffic and parking regulations. This applies to anyone entering the CERN grounds and to all vehicles driven throughout the CERN grounds, whether fenced or not.

Safety Instruction IS 44 - Visits to CERN's installations (1998) en fr
This instruction applies to visits organized by the Visits Service or by experiment collaborations, as well as to professional or private visits. It specifies the number of visitors per guide (appointed by the Visits Service) or other persons in charge (escort) and informs of certain conditions (i.e. smoking forbidden, strong magnetic fields, approved itinerary) or of possible difficulties for participants handicapped or claustrophobic. Specific rules are drawn up for visits in underground structures.

In case of contradiction between Safety rules established according to the classification of SAPOCO 42 version February 2003 (old classification) and Safety rules established according to the classification of SAPOCO rev. November 2006 (new classification) the latter prevail.
